5. Rewatching “The OC”
This week I have wanted to just disconnect my brain from reality. Obviously this means restarting ‘The OC” for the fourth or fifth time. The show itself has aged better than most of its peers and it’s truly fascinating how your viewing experience changes over time. When I first watched it, I found Ryan exhausting and Seth the perfect romantic man. Now, it’s flipped. All the love to my boy Cohen, but watching him fumble his way around Anna and Summer is borderline exhausting.
4. “Elvis” Reviews and Discovering What Baz Luhrmann Actually Looks Like
The Austin Butler-led biopic about the King debuted this week at Cannes Film Festival and the reviews were…mixed. I feel like it’s Baz Luhrmann being Baz Luhrmann. If you didn’t like Moulin Rouge! or Romeo + Juliet, this biopic is probably not meant for you.

That being said, I’m still going to be there with popcorn on June 22. I also didn’t know what I thought Baz Luhrmann looked like, but it certainly wasn’t what he actually does look like. Do it. Google “Baz Luhrmann” right now and tell me that is the polar opposite of what you thought he would look like.
3. Reading Stories about Ray Liotta
In a week that felt already extremely tragic, Ray Liotta’s passing was devastating.
People on Twitter were sharing some beautiful and hilarious stories about their interactions with the late Liotta. I highly encourage you to read some, but here are some of my favorites.

2. New York Yankees Tweets about Uvalde
Last night, in lieu of their traditional game day tweets, the New York Yankees spent their game coverage against the Tampa Bay Rays to tweet about gun violence.

I keep hearing people saying “the Uvalde shooting is different!” And I want to believe it. I truly do. I’m scared that it might not be. But moments like this one make me think that maybe it will be. Maybe we’ll say enough is enough.
Side note: the replies are a hellscape.
1. Hello There
Nothing is more exciting to me than seeing Ewan McGregor appear on my television screen. The new “Obi-Wan Kenobi” show is now available to stream on Disney+. I just watched the first two episodes and it’s the first Star Wars show I’m SUPER invested in from the get go. I can’t wait to see where it goes.
Have a great weekend, y’all. Stay safe out there.
xoxo
